KNX Product Certification

Every product bearing the KNX logo has been certified by the KNX Association and tested for interoperability with devices from other manufacturers. Certification is the central quality feature of KNX.

Certification Process

The manufacturer develops the device and ETS application program and submits both to the KNX Lab (Brussels or an accredited laboratory). In the conformance test, the device is tested against the KNX specification. On passing: entry in the KNX online product catalogue (products.knx.org) and right to use the KNX logo.

Manufacturers must also be members of the KNX Association and pay the annual membership fee. Currently over 500 manufacturers with more than 8,000 certified products are registered in the KNX database.
