Commissioning Process
Step 1, Assign physical address: press the programming button on the device (red LED lights up), click "Programme" in ETS. ETS sends the individual address to the device. The LED then goes out. Step 2, Download application program: ETS compiles the configuration (parameters, GA table, flags) and downloads it to the device via the physical address. Duration: 10 seconds to several minutes.
Step 3, Test: In the ETS bus monitor, telegrams are displayed live. Individual group addresses can be written manually to test actuator responses. Status COs can be checked via GroupValueRead to verify the current value is correct.
Common Errors
Programming button pressed too briefly or too long: the LED must remain lit for the entire download duration. Duplicate physical address: ETS does not always detect this, check all devices if problems occur. Cable break in a stub line: device unreachable, all other devices on the line work normally.
venfree handles the planning phase (rooms, functions, device bill of materials), the ETS download and commissioning are performed by the electrician or system integrator using ETS Professional.
